Most parents will introduce their children to Disney films and fairy-tales as a light-hearted way to engage their imaginations and induct them into the tales that have been passed on for years. Kristen Bell, however, uses Disney films to teach her kids about stranger danger and consent.

In an interview with Parents, the 'Good Place' star spoke about the tale of Snow White, in particular, taking issue with two main messages.

"Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask, 'Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?'" Bell said. "I say, 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like, 'No!' And I'm like, 'Okay, I'm doing something right.'"

Of course, Bell was herself a Disney princess, as she voiced Anna in 'Frozen,' but she has an idea of how they should and shouldn't be. In the era of #MeToo, the actress doesn't want to normalize the older story's resolution.

"Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission? Because you can not kiss someone if they're sleeping," Bell said she tells her daughters.

Her criticism of Snow White follows shortly after actress Keira Knightley told Ellen DeGeneres that she's banned her three-year-old daughter from watching 'Cinderella' and 'The Little Mermaid' because she doesn't want her daughter to wait around for a prince or give up her voice for a man.

Naturally, people have taken to Twitter to defend their beloved childhood tales, namely Hollywood actor James Woods.

He replied to Bell's statements writing, "The Snow White in a coma, who can only be awakened by the kiss of her one true love? That Snow White? Or the looney feminist Snow White Privilege confused about her gender, who majored in Lesbian Interpretive Dance? Which Snow White though?"

Others have accused Bell of being too sensitive, of wrongly placing the fantasy tale in a real-world context, and of ruining the story for kids.
