How alike the Brits are we? A poll on YouGov has shone light on what future technology the British public want to use.

The poll compiled 11 ideas lifted from ‘Black Mirror’ to see what the British public would be most willing to use. The choices included a machine that allows you to observe other people’s memories and a virtual reality world you can inhabit after you die. ‘Black Mirror’ is a sci-fi show that satirizes technology’s influence on society. The most recent series, which premiered on Netflix in late December, featured brain-implanted computer chips and killer robotic dogs.

A machine used in the episode ‘The Entire History of You’ was voted the most popular. The episode features implants that allow you to record everything you see and hear, with the option to rewatch past footage. Of those who took the poll, 29% said they would be willing to use this technology. The poll found that young people are consistently more likely to want to use 'Black Mirror' technology than their elder counterparts and that men were more likely to want it than women (28% of men would use it compared to 14% of women).
