Deadmau5 just dropped a new album, but fan reaction wasn’t what he was expecting. It seems many aren’t happy with Tidal having exclusive streaming rights to the album. The DJ has called these fans out on their negative attitude.
“Love the excitement in the air when you release a new album. Nobody gives a f**k about the album, they just sit and cry about the delivery method for a month. I remember back in the day when releasing music was a MAJOR relief and rewarding to share with your fans,” he tweeted.
The problems started right after the DJ nonchalantly dropped his new album on Twitter.

People immediately began bashing Tidal. But, perhaps to their surprise, deadmau5 responded.
First he reminded his followers that they could take advantage of a 90-day free trial to enjoy his new music.

But when they wouldn’t let up, he made things very clear.
exclusivity pays for the albums massive production costs. This isnt a laptop album. hundreds of humans who need to all get paid worked on this. https://t.co/lxBUyqPI7D

When many fans still didn’t get it, the DJ went for a harsher approach.
listen carefully, Tidal has an exclusive right to stream the music for a period of exclusivity. THIS IS NOT A NEW CONCEPT. if you would like to hear it first, you can hear it there. After the period expires you can hear it elsewhere. SIMPLE SHIT. https://t.co/FIO0pqFClz

Then he doubledowned.
we did. and it is. if anyone bothered to check, we included a link for a free 90 day sub. So, in effect, we're giving you free early access to the album... and so the problem is what exactly? https://t.co/LI15H01Cie

Seemingly tired of the constant explanations, deadmau5 called it a day with this tweet.
aaaand that's enough album promotion for one day. See you at the Wiltern! I might even wear a suit for this one. https://t.co/MqTHipwPtc

But it seems pretty safe to say he’s probably still upset about the whole thing...
