CELEBRITY Nia Vardalos

On International Women’s Day, Canadian actress Nia Vardalos decided to share that she has had the kind of experiences we’ve been hearing about more and more through the Me Too and Time’s Up movements.

Vardalos was vague about what exactly happened but said that she will one day share her story.

“Two men tried to silence my voice but they didn't succeed, so for #internationalwomensday, I resolve that one day I will tell my #MeToo #Timesup story,” she tweeted.

Vardalos was immediately met with support.

“We are ready when you are Nia. We will listen and hear you.  #Metoo,” wrote one fan.

“We’re all here to support you whenever you’re ready, Nia... you’re safe with us,” said another.

The messages of support just kept pouring in.

Others also encouraged her to name the men.

Vardalos offered no responses, nor did she write any new tweets on the subject. If she has a timeline in mind for when she will make the revelations, she’s not yet made that public>
