Everyone always remembers Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz in ‘Clueless,’ but they tend to forget that the film spawned a TV series of the same name with Toronto-born actress Rachel Blanchard as Cher.

While Blanchard is best known for the ‘90s series, she got her start on popular Canadian TV shows and today enjoys leading lady status once again.

Blanchard appeared on ‘The Kids of Degrassi Street’ and several other Canadian shows as a kid, followed by a regular role on ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ as a teenager.

‘Clueless’ came about soon after in 1996, but the show ended in 1999. It wouldn’t, however, take long before Blanchard landed another major television gig—she was a series regular on ‘7th Heaven’ from 2002 to 2004, and had a recurring role on ‘Peep Show’ from 2004 to 2007. During this time she appeared in several films as well, including, ‘Road Trip,’ ‘Without a Paddle,’ ‘Snakes on a Plane,’ and the critically-acclaimed ‘Adoration.’

In the period that followed, she appeared in several smaller movies, as well as making minor appearances on TV. But her luck changed in 2014 when she scored the recurring role of Kitty Nygaard on ‘Fargo.’

Since 2016, Blanchard has starred as main character Emma Trakarsky on ‘You Me Her.’
