CELEBRITY Assault allegations
Since the cult show 'Freaks and Geeks,' Busy Philipps has kept a relatively low profile, showing up in a few movies and TV shows but staying largely out of the press. That is, of course, until now.
After recently speaking openly on 'The Ellen Show' about being sexually assaulted, sharing her story in support of Dr. Christine Ford, an excerpt of her upcoming memoir 'This Will Only Hurt a Little,' obtained by Radar Online, reveals even more shocking allegations. Philipps claims 'Freaks and Geeks' co-star James Franco, whom she refers to as a "f*****g bully," assaulted her on set.
She describes an incident that occurred while filming a scene in which Philipps was instructed to "gently hit" Franco in the chest while delivering her line. He didn't take that too well.
“He grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, ‘DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!’” she writes. “And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.”
Franco then allegedly stormed off, and Philipps' costar Linda Cardellini (who plays Lindsay Weir) advised her to call her manager.
According to Philipps, Franco got away with a mere apology the next day, and only because “he was ordered to do so by directors and producers.”
It's been less than a year since Franco was also accused of sexual misconduct by five women right before the Oscars and right after he had shown solidarity with the #MeToo movement.
Keep an eye out for 'This Will Only Hurt a Little' which is set to be released October 16.
