Ryan Reynolds is working on a remake of cult classic ‘Clue.’
The actor is to work on the project with the writers of ‘Deadpool.’ Reynolds has a three-year first look contract with Fox and seems determined to make the new ‘Clue’ happen.
The new project, like the original, will be a live action film based on the Hasbro board game of the same name. Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company will be working with Allspark Pictures, Hasbro’s film division.
According to Deadline, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the first ‘Deadpool’ movie, will soon join Reynolds.
Writes Deadline:
This is a big deal for Fox chairman/CEO Stacey Snider and vice chairman Emma Watts. [‘Deadpool’] became the highest grossing Fox film since [‘Avatar’]...establishing itself as the highest global grossing R-rated film of all time.
But while a sequel is confirmed for ‘Deadpool’, it remains unclear if the new ‘Clue’ will be a standalone film.
