MOVIES Actors

Cult-favorite director Wes Anderson is well on his way to an Oscar nomination for his animated film 'Isle of Dogs,' but he's not the type to wait around. Anderson has already started filming his next live-action project, 'The French Dispatch'—and he's pulling out all the stops.

The first of which is Timothée Chalamet, one of Hollywood's biggest heartthrobs and an incredibly talented young man. The 'Beautiful Boy' actor is set to star in the film, which has been described as “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th century Paris and centers on three storylines," according to IndieWire

Contrary to popular belief, and unfortunately for fans who want to hear Chalamet sing, the film is not a musical. It will, however, include revered stars like Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Benicio del Toro, and Jeffrey Wright. Rumors of Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and Léa Seydoux are also in the mix, and the star-studded cast is topped off with an Anderson favorite: Bill Murray.

Murray has acted in eight of Anderson's nine full-length films, and they make one of the greatest actor-director duos of all time, in the ranks of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, and Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson.

Filming for 'The French Dispatch' reportedly started last week in the in the southwestern French city of Angoulême. Though Anderson lives in Paris, this will be his first movie set in the city—if you don't count the gorgeous short film 'Hotel Chevalier,' starring Natalie Portman, which was set in a Paris hotel.

According to IndieWire, the film could premiere at the Cannes film festival in June 2019, which might mean a theatrical release by the fall.

Some more concrete things you can depend on in Anderson's upcoming film are fantastic color schemes, quirky outfits, an incredible soundtrack, and enough star power to light up the Paris sky.

Campo obrigatório
