>didir="ltr">‘Black Panther’ is the number one film tearing up the box office and receiving endless critical praise. The film’s soundtrack, curated by Kendrick Lamar, sits at the top the Billboard Albums Chart. However, Lamar now finds himself in legal trouble for his work on ‘Black Panther’.

His collaborative song with SZA, ‘All the Stars’, is the subject of a new lawsuit. The song’s music video, directed by Dave Meyers & the little homies, was recently accused of plagiarism by a British artist. Lina Iris Viktor claims that her artwork was used in the music video without permission. Previously, her lawyer was “willing to discuss a resolution of all her claims” and that “a public apology for the unauthorized use” would be an adequate resolution, Pitchfork reports.

Now, Viktor is moving to formal legal action. She is suing both SZA and Kendrick. The artist also wants an injunction that would block the musicians from from using her artwork to promote the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack. Her lawyer explained that “we tried to resolve this without litigation” and that “in court, we are confident that Ms. Viktor will prevail”, in a statement reported by Pitchfork.
