Singer Lights has apologized for “not being inclusive of trans/non-binary women”.
A bit of controversy arose for Lights after she made a post for International Women’s Day that included the phrase “vag power,” which some transgender and non-binary individuals found offensive, as did some allies.
“From my mom to my daughter, to my [management] team, business managers, tour managers and all the ladies that slay it at my labels. To the ones I’ve toured and written with, I’ve never had a support structure in anything like I’ve had in women. Vag power! Happy #IWD,” tweeted Lights.

Soon came the criticism.
Vagina does not = woman and to say that it does is incredibly trans-exclusionary

Fair and true! Good point! Today is a day to celebrate all women of all walks of life!
Less than three hours after the controversial tweet, Lights posted a formal apology.
“So sorry for not being inclusive of trans/non-binary women here with the vag bit, you beauties are part of this as much as anyone else. Love you for life,” she wrote.
