Musician Matthew Good collapsed on stage and was sent to a hospital following a show in Edmonton on March 27. Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida, who was with Good as part of their tour together, has now commented on what happened, and given fans an update on Good’s condition.

“Tonight in Edmonton AB we saw the [effects] and stress of touring take its toll on our good friend @matthewgoodgram as he collapsed on stage 10 minutes into his set. He was rushed to the hospital immediately. The fact that Matt even went on stage tonight is a testament to him as an artist, literally suffering [and] risking his health for the show. It’s strangely fascinating how, as artists, we never want to disappoint our fans. Matt lived that tonight [and] paid with his health,” wrote Maida on Instagram.

He went on further to suggest he’s willing to suspend the tour if need be, but that fortunately Good was feeling a lot better.

“He has two beautiful children at home that need him to help build LEGO masterpieces so if we have to postpone the tour...so be it. Fortunately, he’s doing well, has his sass back and we don’t expect too much disruption on the last leg of this tour. Thoughts [and] prayers headed to you @matthewgoodgram.”

Maida also wrote that he and his other bandmates were en route to the hospital to see Good.
